Chicago PD Season 11 has been renewed by NBC on April 10, 2023 and Season 10 was concluded on May 24, 2023. This renewal ensures that fans of the One Chicago family, which includes Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, will continue to enjoy thrilling police procedural drama on their screens. Created by Dick Wolf, the renowned television producer, these shows form a sister universe to his Law & Order franchise.

Although the release date for Chicago PD Season 11 has not been announced yet, it typically returns in the autumn/fall season, so fans won't have to wait too long. Dick Wolf expressed his satisfaction with the renewal, stating, "I'm pleased to continue my longstanding partnership with Universal Television and NBC. The fact that all six shows, including the Law & Order franchise, have been picked up again is a testament to the incredible talent of our cast, producers, and writers. I would also like to express my gratitude to our dedicated fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air, resulting in a total of 84 seasons."

The president of scripted programming at NBCUniversal and Streaming, Lisa Katz, also said in a statement: "We understand the emotional connection our audience has with these characters and we can't wait to bring more of their stories to the forefront next season.”

"A huge thank you to Dick and his amazing team who are the masters of producing incredibly compelling television week after week."

Chicago P.D. focuses on the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District of the Chicago Police Department, featuring a talented ensemble including Jason Beghe, Jesse Lee Soffer, Tracy Spiridakos, Marina Squerciati, Patrick John Flueger, LaRoyce Hawkins, Benjamin Levy Aguilar, and Amy Morton. Season 11 introduces Aguilar to the series, who joined after a guest appearance in the previous season, while Soffer departs the show after the third episode. Notably, the season also marks the milestone of the show's 200th episode.

The storyline for Chicago PD season 11 is under wrap. However, fans have already begun speculating about what the new season may explore. One significant surprise for viewers this season was the departure of the beloved character Jay Halstead, who embarked on a journey to Bolivia. Fans have praised the dynamic between Halstead and Tracy Spiridakos' Detective Upton as one of the most compelling love stories on television. Since Season 10 did not delve into their dynamic in the current season, there is speculation that Season 11 will primarily focus on the impact of Halstead's absence on the other characters.

Many viewers are especially curious to see how Upton's character will be developed. In an interview with Variety, Tracy Spiridakos expressed excitement about the potential growth of her character following Halstead's departure. She revealed that the news of his extended stay had a profound impact on Upton, and there will be significant changes for her soon.

"We're still in the change. She finds out that he's extended his stay and has that breakdown moment of having this hope and then all of a sudden, that's gone. It's the first time we see her break down since he's left, since their goodbye. I think there's going to be some changes for her over the next little while."

Chicago PD season 11 may also focus on the evolution of Adam and Kim's relationship. The characters have been shown rekindling their romance in the current season and have settled into a consciously uncoupled co-parenting arrangement. Fans eagerly anticipate the unfolding of this particular aspect of the show.
