The story revolves around Pastor Emilio Vázquez Pena, played by Diego Peretti, who becomes a candidate for vice president in Argentina. However, when his running mate is assassinated, Emilio takes on the role of a presidential candidate while authorities investigate the crime. In the latest season, two years have passed, and Emilio is now the president of Argentina. However, things don't go as planned, and he finds himself manipulated by a character named Osorio.

Despite this, Emilio continues to fight, gathering allies and even forming his army to establish control through fear. The conflict between good and evil intensifies, with Emilio's main opponent being Tadeo, who becomes a popular leader determined to uncover the truth.

Meanwhile, Osorio confronts his past, and Tadeo finds strength in helping others. Towards the end, a journalist named Alejandra Orsi tries to expose Emilio's abuse of young boys within the Church of Light. Tadeo, aware of the situation, tries to reveal his abuse by Emilio but is shot and killed during a live broadcast. The situation is taken over by the secret services, Emilio resigns, and a new administration takes control. Chaos ensues, but Tadeo's sacrifice gives hope as more people join the movement he started.

While Netflix has labeled El Reino Season 2 as the final one, there are still unanswered questions that could be explored if the show continues.
