The TV show Wednesday has been a hit with viewers and critics alike, and it's now the third most popular English-language series on Netflix, just two weeks after it premiered on November 16th, 2022. The show was renewed for Season 2 in January, and fans are eagerly anticipating its release. While fans are eagerly awaiting news on Wednesday Season 2, there's currently no official release date or information on when filming will begin.
In an interview with Glamour on April 23, Jenna Ortega confirmed that preparations for Wednesday Season 2 have begun. Although it is unclear where exactly they are in the process, the writers' room was formed in March 2023, indicating that they are likely still in the process of planning and organizing the episodes. When asked about her summer plans and the upcoming season, Ortega gave no specific details but acknowledged that she would be involved in the show's production.
Ortega said, “No vacations or anything like that. We are starting to prep season two of Wednesday, which…has been exciting. Just developing new storylines and seeing where characters are going. Starting those conversations has been really, really fun. I think it’s going to be bigger and better, which is cool.”
Fans are hoping for the release of Wednesday Season 2 in 2023, but it seems unlikely as Netflix has not confirmed anything. Production for Season 1 took about six months, and the show was released eight months after production ended. With only ten months left in the year and production not yet started for Season 2, it is improbable for the season to be completed and released by the end of the year. Fans will have to wait until 2024 for the release of Wednesday Season 2.
The TV show is about a girl named Wednesday Addams who has psychic powers. She goes to a new school called Nevermore Academy after getting into trouble at her old schools. While at the new school, she has strange experiences and solves a long-standing murder mystery using her powers. People who watched the show are excited to find out how the mystery gets solved.
Returning for Wednesday Season 2 are Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, Naomi J. Ogawa as Yoko Tanaka, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger, and Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin. The Addams Family, including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Fred Armisen, will have more appearances in Wednesday Season 2. While Cousin Itt and Grandmama may be introduced, no new casting announcements have been made yet.
