What happened in Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 5

In Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 5, titled "Steam Gorilla," the main characters continue their mission to create a ship to travel to South America in search of the source of the petrification. The crew discovers a mine filled with the minerals they need to complete the ship. However, the ship's assembly proves to be a daunting task, and despite Kaseki's skills, they are unable to assemble it accurately.

To solve this problem, Ryusui creates a scale model of the ship, which allows Senku to use a Pantograph to copy the ship pieces accurately to the correct size and shape. With this technique, ship construction begins to run smoothly, but they encounter another challenge: the engine. Senku must focus on the engine's construction entirely as a single mistake could cause an explosion.

Almost a year later, the ship is finally completed, and Minami insists on taking a commemorative photograph to mark the launching of the ship Perseus on the 10th of September, 5741 AD. The crew members are thrilled to see the fruits of their labor and the prospect of their upcoming journey, but before they embark, they must decide who will join them on the voyage.

After careful consideration, the Perseus crew is made up of Ryusui, Senku, Chrome, Kaseki, Yuzuriha, Ukyo, Francois, Kohaku, Magma, Taiju, Nikki, Yo, Gen, and Kinro. However, there are two prisoners, Hyoga and Homura, who are too dangerous to leave behind. Senku, therefore, decides to bring them along and keep them in the ship's brig.

In a comical turn of events, Ginro pretends to swim after the ship, hoping to impress Ruri, only to be hauled aboard by Taiju, dooming him to join the crew. Before starting their voyage to South America, Senku reveals that he intends to find the island where his father, Byakuya, returned to Earth with other astronauts and locate something vital for their mission, the crashed Soyuz rocket.
