Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 returning with new characters and impressive storyline

Jujutsu Kaisen, a popular anime series, is set to make a comeback with its highly anticipated Season 2 in July 2023. The new season will be aired for two cours and will adapt the "Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu" and "Shibuya Incident" arcs. In this season, we will get to see the school lives of Gojo and Geto when they were younger, along with some other cursed users.

Recently, Shueisha, the publisher of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, shared an update about the upcoming season. They revealed six new character posters for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. Fans who are eagerly waiting for the show can check out these posters to get an idea of what's in store for them.

The new character posters for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 showcase both familiar and new faces. Nanami Kento is easily recognizable with his blonde hair and slouching posture. He appears alongside other characters like Haibara, Mei, and Utahime. Additionally, there are posters for Misato Kuroi and Shui Kong. Fans have already gotten a glimpse of the younger versions of Gojo and Geto, who will feature prominently in this season.

These posters provide Jujutsu Kaisen fans with a glimpse of what to expect when the new season airs in summer. The show will start with Gojo's arc and then move on to the Shibuya Incident arc, which is one of the biggest storylines in the manga series. Fans of the anime can look forward to seeing how the team at MAPPA handles this pivotal plot.

The first season of "Jujutsu Kaisen" is based on four arcs of the manga: "Fearsome Womb," "Vs. Mahito," "Kyoto Goodwill Event," and "Death Painting" Arc which ran from chapters 55-64 in the manga.  The second season will adapt two manga arcs, "Gojo's Past" which will be covered 65-79 chapters in the original manga and "Shibuya Incident" which will cover 79-136 chapters.  "Gojo's Past" covers Satoru Gojo's past and his efforts with Suguru Geto to get the Star Plasma Vessel to Master Tengen, while the "Shibuya Incident" arc takes place on Halloween and involves an epic battle in Shibuya.

The first season of the anime mainly drew from four arcs of the manga, namely the "Fearsome Womb," "Vs. Mahito," "Kyoto Goodwill Event," and "Death Painting" Arcs. These arcs were based on chapters 55-64 in the manga.

Jujutsu Kaise Season 2 of the anime series will be based on two manga arcs, namely "Gojo's Past" and "Shibuya Incident." The "Gojo's Past" arc, which runs from chapters 65-79 in the manga, primarily focuses on the backstory of Satoru Gojo, one of the main characters in the series. It takes place in 2006, during Gojo's second year as a student at Tokyo Jujutsu High, and chronicles his and Suguru Geto's efforts to get the Star Plasma Vessel to Master Tengen. The anime will delve deeper into the story of how Gojo and Geto went their separate ways.

On the other hand, the "Shibuya Incident" arc takes place on Halloween and covers chapters 79-136 in the manga. This arc features an epic battle in Shibuya and promises to be action-packed and full of suspense. It follows the main characters as they confront a powerful enemy and try to prevent a catastrophic event that could have far-reaching consequences.

The show will feature several returning voice actors, including  Asami Seto (as Nobara), Mikako Komatsu (Maki), Junya Enoki (Yūji) Yūichi Nakamura (Gojō), Kouki Uchiyama (TogeI), Yūma Uchida (Megumi), Mugihito (Yoshinobu), Atsuko Tanaka (Hanami), Aya Endo (ShōkoIeiri), Chinatsu Akasaki (Kasumi), Junichi Suwabe (Sukuna), Kenjiro Tsuda (Kento), Marina Inoue (Mai), Mitsuo Iwata (KiyotakaIjichi), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Mahito), Rie Kugimiya (Momo), Satoshi Hino (Noritoshi), Shigeru Chiba (Jōgo).

The other voice actors are Subaru Kimura (as Aoi Tōdō), Takahiro Sakurai (Suguru Getō), Takaya Kuroda (Masamichi Yaga), Tomokazu Seki (Panda), Yōko Hikasa (UtahimeIori), Yoshitaka Yamaya (Junpei Yoshino), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Ultimate Mechamaru).
