Since the release of the thrilling television series, Inside Man, on Netflix and BBC One, fans have been eagerly waiting for another season. The question on everyone's mind is whether there will be Season 2. Inside Man creator Steven Moffat, has shared a promising update on the potential for a second season.

During an interview with BBC Radio 4's Today program, Moffat confirmed that conversations have begun about the possibility of a new season.

He also revealed that the show performed well, despite having a low TV audience, as ratings rose above the 5 million mark when considering iPlayer and Netflix views on catch-up. If the show is greenlit, David Tennant and Stanley Tucci are expected to reprise their roles as Harry Watling and Jefferson Grieff, respectively.

"You don’t get a [ratings] number the following day anymore, now you get an audience breakdown a month later," Moffat added, before confirming conversations had begun about the potential for a second season.

Moffat told Radio Times, whether Inside Man Season 2 is planned. He said, "The story will end in four episodes. It's done by the end of that. As to whether or not you could ever spin off anything or do any kind of sequel? I don't know at this moment."

"It's not really up to me, and it's not up to the broadcasters – it's up to the audience really, isn't it? And if anyone wanted it, you have to sit down and think, 'Is there anything to do?'

"Television is littered with shows that had one season and pretended they could carry on – I would never want to be one of those, where you're so excited to get a phone call about doing another run that you do it and then realize, actually, the story is finished."

What could show in Inside Man Season 2?

Janice's Request for Justice

In the final episode of the Netflix series "Inside Man," fans get a glimpse of what could be the Death Row Detective's next case. Janice Fife, a math tutor turned near-murder victim, seeks the help of the Death Row Detective, Grieff, to earn a grim form of justice: she needs help murder her husband. Grieff has only one week left until he's scheduled to be executed by the state, but Janice isn't there to express gratitude for saving her life.

Although Grieff murdered his wife and mutilated her corpse, he appears unsurprised by Janice's request. This scene hints at what could be explored in a potential Season 2 of the show. Throughout Season 1, Moffat scatters details of the crime, leaving several setups unexplored. For instance, Grieff decapitated his wife's body and hid the head somewhere, which her father is desperately seeking. Grieff's former best friend is a powerful shady figure, who can summon a private army at a moment's notice and has the FBI desperate to bring him in.

The Potential for Grieff's Next Case

These setups and more are left unexplored in the first season of "Inside Man." In addition, we haven't even met Grieff's mother-in-law. With top-notch casting, including Tucci, Wells, Estimond, and Tennant, as well as Kate Dickie, Lydia West, Dylan Baker, and Lyndsey Marshal, fans can only dream of the incredible talent that a much-anticipated Season 2 might bring. The world of "Inside Man" is one of the dark vicars, darker humor, and horrid homicide, making it an oyster of material for Moffat to work with.

Given the unanswered questions left in the show's first season, it's possible that Janice's request for justice could become the central plotline of Inside Man Season 2. The Death Row Detective, Grieff, appears unfazed by her request, but his willingness to help remains unknown.
