Overlord Season 5: Renewal possibilities & recent updates

Overlord has been captivating audiences since its initial launch in 2017. With four successful seasons and a passionate fanbase, the show continues to build momentum for an exciting fifth season. As fans eagerly await what's next for their beloved series, one question remains: will there be Overlord Season 5?

The dark fantasy novel Overlord was written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin. The anime series follows Ainz Ooal Gown (formally known as Momonga), who finds himself transported into a popular online game called YGGDRASIL when its servers shut down. Momonga begins exploring the world to figure out what has happened.

After four gripping seasons, we are still left to wonder: will the legendary Ainz Ooal Gown succeed in his quest for ultimate domination of Yggdrasil's world? Will anyone be able to prevent it from happening before he is unstoppable? With no Overlord Season 5, we may never know.

As of now, there hasn't been any official confirmation regarding Overlord Season 5. Despite widespread speculation, no official announcement has been made by its creators - leaving viewers to ponder over what could be in store for them next!

Renner's Demon form was revealed in the final episode of Overlord Season 4. Climb also agrees to swear loyalty to Ainz and spend eternity as a demon with her at Renner's request. Renner is praised by Albedo, who reveals that she intentionally sacrificed Re-Estize to Ainz in exchange for immortality. Renner, revealing her true, twisted personality, prepares to make Climb immortal before making love with him, overjoyed that the two of them can now be together forever. Albedo pays a visit to Phillip and reveals the severed heads of Phillip's associates. Albedo then claims that before his father died, he begged her to punish Phillip for his selfishness and stupidity, which destroyed the entire Kingdom, so she begins torturing Phillip to death. Ainz meets Marquis Raeven.

According to the plot, there might be Overlord Season 5 but it will take some time to be declared. Hopefully, Overlord Season 5 may announce after the sequel movie. According to Anime Next Season as of January 2023, the Overlord light novel is still ongoing. The author, Kugane Maruyama, has confirmed that the series will end with volume 18.

While nothing is certain yet, it seems likely as there have been enough materials for adaptation up until volume 18. Therefore we have to wait for more times to get news about Overlord Season 5 - let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that this popular fantasy anime will make a comeback! Overlord Season 1 to Season 4 are currently streaming on Disney+ Hostar.
