The epic fantasy series Arthdal Chronicles, which premiered in 2019 on tvN, completely rocked the K-drama industry with its elaborate world-building and deep mythology. Netflix premiered the series internationally. After its publication, Arthdal Chronicles generated several debates. For example, while some publications stated it was a replica of Game of Thrones, others condemned it for having poor CGI.

Despite these issues, tvN announced the Season 2 of the Arthdal Chronicles in February 2020. Unfortunately, the production was postponed due to the pandemic, which was scheduled to begin filming next year. Later, a production company source in April stated that they are once more aiming to prepare for the play. The good news is that on August 23, 2022, the filming for Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 finally got underway after various setbacks.

Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 would be released in the early months of 2023 on Netflix and tvN, along with a webcomic and an MMORPG, according to the Studio Dragon statement from February 2022. Their plane remains unchanged as of February 1, 2023. The k-drama's premiere is thus expected this year, according to fans.

Writers Kim Young-hyun and Park Sang-yeon will be in charge of the script for the second outing, while the season will be directed by The Great Battle's director Kim Kwang-sik.

Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won initially starred in the Korean drama Arthdal Chronicles. However, in Arthdal Chronicles 2, actors Lee Joon-gi and Shin Se Kyung replaced them. Kim Ji Won played Tanya in Season 1, while Song Joong Ki portrayed the identical twins Eun Seom and Saya.

Shin Se Kyung will play Tan Ya, the Wahan clan's heir apparent, while Lee Joon Gi will be depicted as the adult version of Eun Seom, the king of the East. Tan Ya will take the Wahan clan's place as one of Arthdal's most powerful leaders once she assumes that position. The first look of the other returning stars, such as Jang Dong Gun as Ta Gon and Kim Ok Bin as Tae Al Ha, are also revealed.

Jang Dong-gun and Kim Ok-vin have also confirmed that they will reprise their roles as Ta-gon, the militaristic leader of the Arthdal Kingdom, and Tae Al-ha, his political advisor and lover. Shin Joo-hwan will also reprise his role as Dal-sae, Eun-best seom's friend. tvN recently released the first stills of Lee Joon-gi and Shin Se-kyung from Season 2 of Arthdal Chronicles.

tvN and Studio Dragon have not yet revealed how many episodes season 2 of Arthdal Chronicles will have. Season 1 was presented in three acts over a total of 18 episodes.

Arthdal Chronicles is set during the Bronze Age and tells the story of a mythical land called Arth. The citizens of Arthdal are preoccupied with power struggles, though some also find love along the way. Eun-seom (Song Joong-ki in Season 1, Lee Joon-gi in Season 2) goes through hardships to bring his tribe back to life and discovers his true origins in the process.

The exact date for Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 has yet to be announced. We'll keep you updated as soon as we learn more about the K-drama. Keep an eye on Devdiscourse for more information on the South Korean series.
