The Tourist Season 2 begins filming soon, says Jamie Dornan

Jamie Dornan's highly acclaimed thriller series, The Tourist, has captivated audiences with its intense storyline and compelling characters. On January 1, 2022, it premiered on BBC One before being distributed globally by All3Media to further enthrall fans around the world - they can't wait for more of this gripping show in Season 2!

BBC renewed the show for another season on March 2022. Jamie Dornan is gearing up for another round of thrilling escapades as The Tourist, with filming beginning soon on The Tourist Season 2. Despite the enthusiastic response to his portrayal in the first installment, it seems Jamie never expected he'd be suiting up again so quickly!

Last year, The Tourist took the UK by storm becoming the most-watched drama series and now Jamie Dornan is returning with creators Harry and Jack Williams for a much The Tourist Season 2.

Speaking on BBC’s The Graham Norton Show last night, Dornan explained: "There wasn’t meant to be [season 2], but then that many people watch something and you know how the world works. If there’s an appetite for it, and Jack and Harry Williams – who created the show – are very smart fellas, and they’ve worked out a way of continuing the story."

Jamie Dornan also said the filming for The Tourist Season 2 will commence this year, although he has not revealed the exact date.

The Tourist tells the story of a mysterious Northern Irish man who wakes up in an Australian hospital, completely devoid of memory. With the clock ticking and his past threatening to catch up with him at any moment, he must piece together a few tantalizing clues in order to discover who he is before it's too late!

After discovering that he'd been a drug trafficker before losing his memory, Elliot was overcome with grief and resorted to an ill-fated attempt at suicide. A final gulp of vodka coupled with copious amounts of pills left him on the brink as The Tourist Season 1 wrapped up.

The release date for The Tourist Season 2 on BBC is yet to be announced. So predicting a release window for the series is hard. However based on the recent news, if the filming begins in March, so we could assume the series may not launch before 2024.
