Money Heist (La Casa De Papel) Season 5 is confirmed to hit Netflix in two halves – in September and December this year. The Spanish series will come to an end with fifth season. Read further to get the latest updates on the upcoming Netflix series.
Money Heist Season 5’s plot has been kept under wrap to avoid the mess up of the series conclusion. However, Mario de la Rosa will return as Suárez in Money Heist Season 5 and join the former team leader Alicia Sierra (Namwa Nimri) as villains for the final season. According to Express, the chief of Operations could once again try to infiltrate the heist, after two failed attempts throughout the series.
In a statement posted to Netflix’s “See What’s Next” account (now labeled Netflix Queue), the series creator, Álex Pina said the following regarding the renewal, “We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropess. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel. The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”
Although Money Heist Season 5 will mark end to the series, still there is a possibility of something new in future. “We have many opportunities for spin-offs. This is due to the strong identities of the characters. We’ve always looked for characters that are complex, so I think almost every character has a side that we would like to see in a spin-off,” Pina said.
Here's the official synopsis of Money Heist Season 5:
The gang has been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They have managed to rescue Lisbon, but their darkest moment is upon them after losing one of their own. The Professor has been captured by Sierra and, for the first time, doesn't have an escape plan. Just when it seems like nothing else could go wrong, an enemy comes on the scene that is much more powerful than any they've faced: the army. The end of the greatest heist in history is approaching, and what began as a robbery will turn into a war.
