The Karnataka government has unveiled a strategic initiative to boost the global employability of nursing students by setting up foreign language laboratories in nursing colleges across the state. This announcement was made by Minister Sharan Prakash Patil during the inauguration of a new physiotherapy building at Dr B R Ambedkar College of Physiotherapy.
The Minister highlighted the increasing international demand for proficient nurses and allied health professionals, with countries like Germany, Italy, Japan, and the UAE actively seeking trained individuals who are proficient in their native languages.
To address this demand, nursing students will have the opportunity to learn languages including German, Japanese, Italian, and English throughout their studies, better preparing them for overseas employment. Patil also emphasized the need for quality education, urging medical colleges to implement allied health sciences courses and eliminate substandard institutions.
