The Jadavpur University Teachers' Association (JUTA) has called on Governor CV Ananda Bose to expedite the appointment of a permanent vice-chancellor for the institution. The association highlighted the growing administrative and academic issues caused by the leadership vacuum.

JUTA President Partha Pratim Biswas communicated to the governor, who also serves as the university's chancellor, the pressing need for a permanent leadership solution. He emphasized that crucial processes, including faculty recruitment and academic policy implementation, are affected by the absence of a stable administration.

The situation, persisting for over a year and a half, has not only disrupted decision-making but has also had a demoralizing impact on faculty members and students. While Bhaskar Gupta continues as the acting vice-chancellor, Governor Bose has remarked on his awareness of the situation and promised a prompt resolution.
