In a significant development, Assam's Education Minister Ranoj Pegu addressed the assembly regarding the leak of class 11 examination question papers, attributing the breach to school-level misconduct. This led to the cancellation of exams across all subjects.
The minister emphasized that the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) was not responsible for the leak, as initially accused. Instead, the breach was traced back to 15 schools, prompting immediate suspension of their affiliations and a halt to new admissions.
Pegu recommended a policy review concerning future examination procedures, especially in private schools, to safeguard against similar incidents. The class 11 exam schedule will be rescheduled post the panchayat elections.
