The alumni association and former professors at Indore's Government Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College have voiced their concern over an eight-year hiatus in felicitation ceremonies, impacting nearly 1,300 deserving students.
Dr. Manohar Bhandari, an ex-chairman of the college's academic award distribution committee, stated that the tradition of awarding medals and certificates in 15 categories has not been upheld, affecting various students. This disruption has led to calls from students for the resumption of these events, a demand that has not yet elicited a response from the college's management.
Dr. Sanjay Dixit, the college dean, announced the formation of a 10-member committee to address the issue, with plans to conduct the felicitation ceremonies in the next 15 days, following a thorough review of claims and objections.
