The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has postponed the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) exams, to the dismay of some candidates. Instead, the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) preliminary exam will be held on a single day using the old pattern, following demands from aspirants.
This decision, ordered by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has raised hopes for a fairer examination process. An official committee is being formed to investigate the transparency of the RO and ARO exams after several paper leaks were reported nationwide, further affirming the need for such measures.
Despite government action, student protests persist outside the UPPSC office. Protesters demand official confirmation and criticize the government's partial measures. In response, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak assured that student interests will remain a priority, a stance echoed by opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav.
