Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, underscored the critical role of education and health in the development of children, aiming to prepare them as future citizens. On Children's Day, celebrated on Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday, Vijayan remarked on this responsibility through a post on Facebook.
He acknowledged Nehru's foresight in prioritizing children's welfare as a key factor in national progress. Vijayan articulated the state's commitment to advance public education, citing significant improvements in recent years that garnered national recognition.
Vijayan also stressed the importance of children's health, calling for equal access to food, water, and shelter, alongside mental health support. He urged society to contribute to raising children with democratic and secular values, fostering scientific consciousness, and philanthropy.
