On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) emphasized its priorities of maintaining exam integrity and ensuring candidate convenience amid growing agitation from aspirants.
In response to concerns over the exam normalisation process, a UPPSC spokesperson stated that eliminating irregularities is crucial to preserve the sanctity of exams and protect students' futures. As a result, exams will be held only in centers free from previous irregularities, primarily government-funded institutions within a 10-km radius of transport hubs.
Protests erupted as candidates challenged the decision to conduct different exams on separate dates. Despite police efforts to control the demonstrations, aspirants persisted, demanding fairness and a unified exam schedule. Opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav criticized the government's handling, deeming it anti-youth and anti-student.
