NEW DELHI, India – In a significant step towards bolstering cybersecurity education across India, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and global cybersecurity leader Fortinet have announced joint initiatives to advance cyber awareness and skills. These initiatives occur under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at empowering students, teachers, and professionals to combat digital threats effectively.
Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General of CERT-In, emphasized the importance of a skilled cybersecurity workforce to maintain a resilient cyber landscape. The collaboration with Fortinet seeks to equip academic institutions with necessary industry-standard expertise, fostering a culture of cybersecurity readiness, according to Bahl. Vivek Srivastava of Fortinet stressed that cybersecurity is an essential life skill in today's digital age, aiming to provide training that enables safety and confidence in navigating digital spaces.
The partnership includes advanced training programs and a specialized K-12 Cybersecurity Education Program for primary and secondary schools. These initiatives provide free resources and tailored curriculum, including comprehensive training for teachers. Participants will gain access to Fortinet's expertise along with CERT-In and Fortinet joint certifications to enhance their career prospects.
