Maharashtra's students may face transportation challenges as school buses will not run for two days, including the state assembly polling day on November 20. This move is in response to directives from the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs).
The School Bus Owners Association of Maharashtra (SBOA) announced that their fleet would be on mandatory election duty on November 19 and 20, complying with instructions to deploy tourist and school buses across Mumbai and surrounding areas.
Furthermore, numerous educational institutions have been designated as polling centers, with teaching staff assigned to election booth duties, leading to a paucity of teachers for regular classes. The SBOA has appealed for patience and understanding from parents, students, and the public.
