A recent conflict concerning students from Jammu and Kashmir at a government nursing college in Karnataka has been resolved, according to college officials. The disagreement revolved around the requirement for students to maintain their beards at a certain length.

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association brought the issue to light, writing to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about challenges faced by the students. The association claimed the college imposed undue restrictions on personal appearance, particularly regarding beard length, which affected students' participation in college activities.

Dr. Rajanna, director of Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences, stated that students understood the need for neat dress and grooming, resolving the matter amicably. With around 40 Kashmiri students involved, the college ensured that the conflict did not hinder educational access or fuel a negative atmosphere.
