Delhi's education system is set for significant improvement as Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena greenlights the creation of 200 additional Post Graduate Teacher posts. These posts, allocated for secondary and senior secondary levels, will be regular positions within government schools, adhering to pay matrix level 8.

This initiative addresses longstanding issues like favoritism and breaches of reservation norms and is a step toward permanent employment solutions, particularly for children with disabilities. Currently, over 9,500 such students exist with inadequate support due to only 283 PGTs for Special Education available.

The plan results from collaborative efforts within the city's Directorate of Education, alongside Administrative Reform and Finance departments. It highlights the crucial need for timely DSSSB-conducted recruitments to fill various teaching positions and ensure comprehensive policy implementation.
