Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar on Tuesday unveiled a new initiative to create a cadre of skilled educators adept at teaching children with disabilities.

The Integrated Special and Inclusive Teacher Education Programme (ISITEP) is a four-year B.Ed. degree aimed at preparing teachers for all school levels, a senior official disclosed. This programme aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing high-quality, multidisciplinary teacher training.

In parallel, the minister also announced a new B.Sc. (Hons) in Clinical Psychology, replacing the discontinued M.Phil., to train assistant clinical psychologists.
