In a tragic incident in Bhadohi, UP, three children sustained injuries after the SUV taking them to school veered off the road and plunged into a drain on Monday, police confirmed.
According to the police, the SUV was ferrying 11 children, aged five to eight, to a private Basic Education Centre in Garauli village of Aurai when the mishap occurred. The driver, being assisted by a trainee, lost control near Nakta Pur village, causing the vehicle to fall about five feet off the road and become lodged in a drain.
As locals hurried to the scene upon hearing the cries of the children, Basic Shiksha Adhikari Bhupendra Narayan Singh reported that three children, identified as Pawan, Ansh, and Abhishek, sustained minor head injuries. They were treated and subsequently sent home with their guardians. Inspector Sachidanand Pandey stated that a crane was employed to extract the Tata Sumo from the drain and that legal proceedings will be initiated against the driver.
