On 6 September 2024, Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department for School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, participated in the virtual award ceremony for the second edition of the “Quality Summer Funcamp,” organized by the National Board for Quality Promotion (NBQP) under the Quality Council of India (QCI). The event brought together state government officials, industry leaders, educators, and parents from across the country.

In his address, Shri Sanjay Kumar emphasized the value of experiential learning in school curricula. He noted that such learning methods actively engage students and foster a lifelong passion for education, better preparing them for future challenges. Shri Kumar set an ambitious target of involving 10,00,000 students in future Quality Summer Funcamps, underscoring the importance of quality in shaping education and society.

This year’s camp, themed “Safety Stars: Shining Bright with Quality,” ran from 15 April to 20 July 2024 and emphasized the importance of safety and quality in daily life. The initiative aimed to ignite children’s imaginations by integrating quality principles across various sectors, including food, habitat, toys, healthcare, education, and sustainability.

The Quality Summer Funcamp 2024 saw participation from all 36 States/UTs of India, with over 13,000 entries in competitions such as essay writing, drawing contests, short video creation, and quizzes. These activities encouraged students to reflect on quality-driven safety measures and their impact on improving lives and communities.

The event highlighted the overwhelming participation and talent of students, reinforcing quality as a foundational element of India’s future. As the camp concluded, participants were inspired to carry forward the values of quality and safety, contributing to India’s path toward becoming a global leader in innovation and excellence.
