Uttarakhand Expands Sampark TV Smart Schools, Benefiting 2.5 Lakh Students

In a significant development for Uttarakhand's educational landscape, the state government has announced the expansion of the Sampark TV Smart Schools program to encompass 4,337 government schools for the 2024-25 academic year. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted the role of this initiative in transforming traditional classrooms into technology-driven environments, set to benefit 2.5 lakh children.

The Chief Minister lauded Sampark Foundation for its invaluable efforts, noting that modern technology's integration into education aligns with the National Education Policy. He stressed the importance of continuous improvement in educational quality across the state. This program follows the notable success of a pilot project in Champawat, which marked a 40% enhancement in learning outcomes.

Sampark Foundation has committed INR 75 crore to this transformative initiative. Co-founders Anupama Nayar and Vineet Nayar expressed their deep connection to Uttarakhand and dedication to improving local education. The Foundation will provide 43-inch TV sets and Sampark TV devices loaded with interactive educational content, which can be used offline. This initiative aims to empower teachers with globally-informed, locally-adapted pedagogical tools, fundamentally enhancing the educational experience for thousands of students in Uttarakhand.
