In a recent parliamentary session, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri addressed concerns about the potential relocation of the cooperative training centre from Garli to Una. Agnihotri assured that the Garli centre, established in 1981 and equipped with facilities for 60 trainees, will remain functional without any disruption.

The Deputy CM highlighted the historic significance of Una in India's cooperative movement, which began there in 1892. The first cooperative society was formed by Mian Hira Singh in Panjawar, though it wasn't registered until 1904. In honor of this legacy, a new training centre in Panjawar, named after Mian Hira Singh and costing Rs 8 crore, had its foundation stone laid on February 8, 2024.

Agnihotri further announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on August 3, 2024, between registered cooperative societies and the secretary of Cooperative Development, ensuring both Garli and Una training centres will operate simultaneously, reflecting the government's commitment to strengthening cooperative training across the state.
