Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Advocates Spiritual Learning in Schools

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath suggested reciting verses from the Bhagavad Gita or Ramcharitmanas during school assemblies to impart spiritual learning. Addressing an education award ceremony, he urged teachers not to behave like trade union members and stressed the need for dedication and innovation in teaching.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday proposed that verses from the Bhagavad Gita or Ramcharitmanas be recited in school assemblies to instill spiritual learning among students.

Speaking at the state award distribution ceremony for the basic and madhyamik education departments, Adityanath also advised teachers against acting like trade union members, as it devalues the profession.

Adityanath emphasized that such spiritual practices could leave a lasting positive impact on children's minds. He also assured teachers that their demands would be considered if presented democratically.

Forty-one teachers from the basic education department and 13 from the madhyamik education department received awards, personally handed out by the Chief Minister.

Highlighting the respect given to teachers in Indian culture, Adityanath stressed the importance of dedication and hard work in the teaching profession.

He directed the education department to utilize award-winning teachers for curricular developments and championed innovation alongside traditional curricula under the National Education Policy.

The Chief Minister urged teachers to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a developed India by 2047, beginning with fulfilling civic duties.

Minister of State for Basic Education, Sandeep Singh, also highlighted the importance of culture and educated citizens for national progress, affirming efforts to strengthen Uttar Pradesh's education system under Adityanath's leadership.
