Nagaland celebrated Teachers' Day by honouring 14 teachers for their extraordinary contributions in academics and extracurricular activities. The event, organized by the School Education Department, saw 10 government teachers and four private institution teachers being honoured in the state capital on Thursday.

The teachers received citations and cash awards for their dedicated service towards the children's welfare. During the ceremony, Advisor for School Education Kekhrielhoulie Yhome launched a students' health card, formulated in collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare Department, aiming to monitor and maintain student health and well-being. This initiative seeks to strengthen parent-teacher collaboration to promote healthy lifestyles among students.

"We honour their contributions and recognise the vital role teachers play in shaping our lives and building a better future," Yhome stated. He further assured that administrative reforms are underway to provide quality education, given that the education sector is the state's second-largest employer. Additional honours were also given at the District and Sub-Divisional levels to mark the occasion.
