Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the urgent need for India's academic institutions to innovate and address 21st-century challenges on Wednesday.
Speaking at a University Grants Commission workshop, Pradhan urged the academic community to reinvent their institutions to achieve national priorities and focus on skill development, innovation, and global research standards.
Pradhan also launched a compendium of UGC guidelines and stressed the role of higher education in transforming India's economy from consumption-based to production-based, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020.
