Delhi University has accused St. Stephen's College of exceeding the sanctioned quota for Christian candidates in its latest seat allocation list. Some BA course seats were left vacant despite candidates meeting CUET criteria, the university claimed.

During the first step of verifying the list, DU found critical issues that prevented further allocations. Notably, in programs like B.Sc (H) Chemistry and B.Sc (H) Physics, seats were inexplicably left vacant despite sufficient CUET-qualified candidates, stated the university's public notice.

St. Stephen's College had revised its candidate list, sent to DU on August 31. The principal acknowledged the mismatches. DU is further validating the revised list and announced the allocation for Christian candidates shortlisted by Jesus and Mary College, another minority institute. Candidates have until September 4 to accept the allocations.
