Karnataka Students to Compete at World Skills Competition in France

Nine students from Karnataka have been selected by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation to represent India at the 47th World Skills Competition in Lyon, France. Nine students from Karnataka have been chosen by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) to represent India at the upcoming 47th World Skills Competition in Lyon, France, officials announced on Wednesday.

Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development Sharan Prakash Patil met with the selected students before their departure, wishing them success and encouraging them to bring pride to both the state of Karnataka and the nation. The students, currently enrolled in various ITI, Diploma, and Engineering courses, will participate in the global event.

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) organizes the India Skills competition to identify and train participants for the World Skills Competition, also known as the Olympics of vocational skills. Karnataka secured the second position in the national competition held in New Delhi from May 15 to 19, 2024. The World Skills Competition will take place from September 10 to 15, 2024, in Lyon, featuring over 1,000 young participants under the age of 22 competing in 61 skill categories.
