A second-year postgraduate student at Sawai Man Singh Medical College has been suspended following allegations of harassment, the administration confirmed on Thursday.

Dr Deepak Maheshwari, the college principal, stated that the women's committee's probe led to the immediate suspension of the student, who now faces academic and hospital activity bans. The duration of the suspension remains undetermined.

The female resident doctor accused the male student of making severe threats against her, which she suggested could escalate to rape or murder. The allegations were posted in a WhatsApp group for the Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors, leading the principal to inform the police. However, the resident refused to file an FIR, preferring administrative action.
