In a recent controversy, a student association at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has alleged a ban on non-vegetarian food at one of its canteens.
The Ambedkar Periyar Phule Study Circle (APPSC) posted on social media, claiming that non-vegetarian food is prohibited in the dining area of the Amul Canteen.
The APPSC has shared concerns that such restrictions could lead to increased segregation and discrimination based on dietary choices. Despite attempts to reach IIT Bombay, the institute has not provided any response.
