Uttar Pradesh Aims to Double Higher Education Enrolment in Ten Years: CM Yogi Adityanath
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to increase Uttar Pradesh's gross enrolment ratio (GER) in higher education from 25% to over 50% in the next decade. Adityanath emphasized the importance of quality and employment-oriented education and highlighted recent initiatives and successes in the state's educational policies.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directed officials to target a rise in the gross enrolment ratio (GER) from currently 25 per cent to over 50 per cent in 10 years.
During a review meeting on the policy's implementation, he highlighted Uttar Pradesh's leading role in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which has helped boost the state's GER in recent years. Adityanath stressed the importance of providing quality, universal, and employment-oriented education using modern technology.
The Chief Minister also announced the establishment of new universities, which he believes will further improve the GER. Moreover, he emphasized entrepreneurship education, timely curriculum updates, and apprenticeship opportunities under the 'Mukhyamantri Shikshuta Protsaahan Yojana'. The meeting also addressed ensuring the availability of NCERT curriculum books and reducing rote learning by updating examination methods.
