The Supreme Court has agreed to consider a plea on Friday seeking to postpone the NEET-PG examination, which is scheduled for August 11. The plea argues that candidates have been assigned cities that are highly inconvenient to reach.

A bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud, including Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, noted the submissions by lawyer Anas Tanwir on Thursday.

The bench announced that the matter would be heard on Friday.

The plea highlights that many candidates were allocated inconvenient cities on July 31, with specific centers to be announced on August 8. The allocation aims to curb malpractices, but candidates find it challenging to make travel arrangements due to time constraints.

The plea filed by Vishal Soren requests the National Testing Agency to reschedule the NEET-PG 2024 examination.

The NEET-PG exam initially set for June 23 was postponed by the Union Health Ministry as a precautionary measure following alleged irregularities in other competitive exams.
