The Union Education Ministry has confirmed that the eagerly awaited ninth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) will be unveiled on August 12. The rankings, which were delayed from their usual April release, are set to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the nation's higher education institutions.
Last year's rankings saw the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras maintaining its top position for the fifth year in a row, reflecting its dominance in the field. The announcement is expected to once again highlight the competitive landscape among educational institutions in India.
The NIRF assesses institutions based on five critical parameters: teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception. Scores in these categories are aggregated to determine the overall rankings, offering a detailed snapshot of institutional performance across the country.
