The Bihar Education Department on Wednesday emphasized the need for strict compliance with rules and regulations by coaching institutes across the state. The move comes in the wake of the flooding incident at an Old Rajinder Nagar coaching centre in Delhi, which resulted in the death of three students.
The framing of rules under the Bihar Coaching Institutes (Control and Regulation) Act had been delayed due to legal disputes, but Additional Chief Secretary (Education) S Siddharth assured that these are now being expedited for better compliance.
"District Magistrates across Bihar must ensure strict adherence to the rules by coaching centres in their areas. Action will be taken against those who do not comply with existing norms," Siddharth told PTI, adding that coaching centres must provide facilities as per prescribed standards.
