A Delhi University committee has thoroughly reviewed allegations of financial irregularities in 12 Delhi government-funded colleges and concluded that there was no mismanagement of funds. The panel's report, presented at the 1270th meeting of the DU's Executive Council (EC), confirmed that these colleges will remain affiliates of the university.
The investigation was initiated after Delhi Education Minister Atishi flagged concerns about potential misappropriation of public funds. However, the committee found no unauthorized fund transfers or irregular payments for services like security and cleanliness, deeming the colleges integral to DU as per established norms.
The EC also approved proposals for new academic buildings and courses, including an M.Tech. Computer Science program and a BA (Hons) in Russian language, starting from the 2024-25 session. Additionally, it endorsed recommendations on student promotion and passing norms under the NEP UGCF-2022, while rejecting some proposals after objections from members.
