Delhi University Rejects Proposal to Include Manusmriti in Law Curriculum

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that there is no chance of incorporating any controversial parts of Manusmriti into Delhi University's law curriculum. This statement came after DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh rejected the proposal on Thursday.
Pradhan emphasized the government's commitment to upholding the true spirit of the Constitution. He shared this information following a conversation with the Vice Chancellor, who assured him that no such proposal had been endorsed by the Academic Council.
The suggestion to include Manusmriti readings in the law syllabus was criticized by some faculty members and was officially rejected to maintain the constitutional values and futuristic approach of the education system.
