The continuing ambiguity over the NEET medical entrance examination has significantly stirred restlessness, anxiety, and anger among the populace, noted BSP chief Mayawati on Monday, urging for a lasting resolution.
Allegations of exam paper leaks and other irregularities in the NEET-UG have led to widespread protests and litigation, with various factions demanding a comprehensive re-examination.
In response to the allegations, the Union Health Ministry postponed the NEET-PG, originally scheduled for June 23, as a precautionary action.
"The sanctity of various examinations in the country and the current uncertainty, particularly around NEET-UG and PG exams, have naturally created waves of restlessness, anxiety, and anger among the people. A quick and correct permanent solution is extremely important," Mayawati expressed in a social media post.
Highlighting the gravity of paper leaks in nationwide and state exams, and corruption in government recruitments, she termed the issues very serious and worrisome.
Mayawati stressed the need for stringent measures to prevent such irregularities, adding that neither governmental negligence nor political maneuvering towards these problems is acceptable.
