Ethiopia’s agribusiness exhibition attracts participants from various countries

The 3rd edition of the Agrofood and Plastprintpack Exhibition Ethiopia was inaugurated on May 9 with the participation of 152 companies from 18 countries.
Organized by German trade show firm Fair-trade Messe in collaboration with its Ethiopian partner, Prana Events, the three-day exhibition features country pavilions for China, France, Germany, Italy, and Turkey. The number of Chinese exhibitors, at 11 last year, rose to 67 this year, organizers said.
Other exhibitors come from such countries as Austria, Cote d'Ivoire, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.
In his welcoming speech, Fair-trade Messe Managing Director Paul Mark said the event is attracting more and more participants from different countries, creating opportunities for businesses in the industry.
"We may proudly confirm that today, we are opening one of the largest and most important agrofood and plastprintpack event in East and Central Africa if not the largest," he said, as reported by Xinhua.
The exhibition is supplemented by conferences, presentations, and panel discussions on such topics as reducing food losses and waste, increasing agricultural productivity through innovation, and financing for small and medium-sized enterprises.
