Huawei Technologies, in conjunction with Redington Gulf, a Kenyan information technology solutions distributor, has presented awards to 43 best performing local partners.

The event held on Wednesday evening accorded Huawei a platform to exhibit the latest leading information and communication technologies (ICT) where partners also shared their experiences on how to grow their businesses in Kenya. The 43 awards were given out in areas such as network energy products, enterprise network products, IT products, training partner and expert contributors.

Stone He, the CEO of Huawei Technologies Kenya, China's telecom giant, opined that working with Redington Gulf and all partners in the Kenyan ICT sector has enabled Huawei to bring ICT equipment and services to local businesses, which has helped them to fast track their digital transformation and adapt to their business needs.

Following the signing of a framework distribution agreement in 2018, Huawei and Redington Gulf have strived to provide innovative equipment including data centre facilities, IT and communications hardware and software for the Kenyan market, as reported by Xinhua.

Huawei Technologies is currently in an expansion spree. Stone He said with more than 3,000 distributors spread across Africa, Redington Gulf will the company’s advanced technological products across Kenya. “During this cooperation, I think our local partners help us to better understand what’s the deal requirement from the end user and also we continue to transfer the technology to the Kenya partners,” he said. He also acknowledged the role played by Huawei distributors, while speaking in a forum in Kenya’s capital Nairobi, the brand’s intention to drive the rise of advanced technology in the region, Africa CTGN reported.

Huawei Technologies also looks forward to opening more data centres in Kenya as part of a broader expansion of its cloud services on the continent.
