Andhra Pradesh Initiates Electric Vehicle Movement

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has launched an initiative to promote the adoption of electric vehicles. Plans are underway to distribute 16,000 electric bicycles and enhance EV charging infrastructure. The initiative includes facilitating loans and possibly creating a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).

In a significant push towards sustainable transport, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu urged officials to promote electric vehicles across the state. On Monday, during a video conference with Electric Vehicle companies' representatives, Naidu emphasized the need for a movement aimed at fuel conservation by adopting EVs.

To kickstart this initiative, the Chief Minister announced plans to provide 16,000 electric bicycles to SwarnaGrama and SwarnaWard workers. These efforts form part of a broader strategy to transition towards electric mobility as a mainstream mode of transportation.

Naidu also highlighted the importance of facilitating loans for EV purchases, mentioning the potential establishment of a Special Purpose Vehicle if necessary. Furthermore, he outlined the state's commitment to improving the EV charging infrastructure, signaling a comprehensive approach to fostering an electric vehicle ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.
