A fire broke out on a Thiruvananthapuram-Delhi bound Rajdhani Express in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district early Sunday morning, officials reported. Thankfully, no casualties were reported among the 68 passengers on board the AC coach where the fire erupted.
The incident occurred around 5:15 am between Vikramgarh Alot and Lunirichha stations. Railway authorities promptly disconnected the affected coach from the train and cut the overhead electric supply to prevent further risk. The fire was quickly extinguished, allowing passengers to deboard safely and without injuries.
Alternative arrangements were made for the passengers to continue their journey in other coaches up to the Kota station in Rajasthan. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
