The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), backed by the renowned Tata Group, has successfully acquired a 51% stake in Brij Hospitality, as revealed in a recent regulatory filing.
The total investment for the acquisition amounted to approximately Rs 222 crore. With this strategic acquisition, Brij Hospitality has officially become a subsidiary of IHCL.
This move follows IHCL's earlier announcement in January, stating they had signed agreements to acquire the shareholding in Brij Hospitality Private Limited. The acquisition involved purchasing shares from existing stakeholders and making primary investments through preference shares and partly paid equity shares.
