Defence Ministry Clears Rs 79,000 Crore Procurement Deals

The Indian Defence Ministry approved weapon and military hardware procurement worth Rs 79,000 crore to boost combat capabilities of the armed forces, including Nag missiles and amphibious warfare ships. This follows a previous approval of Rs 67,000 crore on August 5. The acquisitions include equipment for the Navy, Army, and Air Force.

The Indian Defence Ministry has sanctioned the purchase of weapons and military hardware worth Rs 79,000 crore. This significant move is aimed at bolstering the combat capabilities of India's armed forces, with acquisitions including Nag missiles and amphibious warfare ships.

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, approved these procurement proposals. This decision follows an earlier approval of Rs 67,000 crore on August 5, highlighting the government's commitment to enhancing military prowess.

The new procurements will significantly benefit the Navy, Army, and Air Force. For the Navy, acquisitions include Landing Platform Docks and Naval Surface Guns. The Army will receive the Nag missile system and high-mobility vehicles, while the Air Force gets the Collaborative Long Range Target Saturation/Destruction System.
