Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory, is eager to bolster business connections with India after establishing a landmark treaty with the European Union earlier this year. This announcement was made during a special Gibraltar Day event at the High Commission of India in London, where prominent ministers expressed enthusiasm about new partnerships.
Nigel Feetham, Gibraltar's Minister for Justice, Trade, and Industry, alongside Gemma Arias-Vasquez, Minister for Health, Care, and Business, underscored the treaty's role in providing Gibraltar with unprecedented stability. This, they stated, paves the way for enhanced trade and cultural exchanges, particularly by leveraging the thriving Indian Gibraltarian community.
Indian High Commissioner to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, highlighted the potential of cross-sector collaborations between India and Gibraltar, especially in fintech, financial services, healthcare, and maritime industries. A panel discussion further explored opportunities arising from Free Trade Agreements connecting dynamic global markets.
