In an effort to enhance passenger convenience, automatic ticket vending machines (ATVMs) have been deployed at five major railway stations throughout the Jammu division. Stationed at Pathankot Cantonment, Pathankot City, Jammu, Shahid Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur), and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, these machines are set to transform the ticket-buying process during the festive season.

Designed with a user-friendly touchscreen interface, the ATVMs allow travelers to purchase tickets effortlessly without enduring long queues. They support digital payment methods, including UPI, offering faster and safer transactions. Notably, Railway Smart Card users receive a 3 per cent bonus on recharges, enhancing the appeal of cashless travel.

Available around the clock, these machines facilitate the purchase of unreserved and platform tickets with multi-language options for ease of use. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal highlighted the initiative's role in preventing congestion at stations, fostering a safer environment for travelers. Indian Railways encourages passengers to take advantage of this new facility to experience a smoother, more enjoyable journey.
