The Tobacco Board has issued a directive requiring all stakeholders in the tobacco industry to register or renew their registration for 2026 by the end of November. According to the notice, applications must be submitted online via the Tobacco Board portal.
Stakeholders engaged in the tobacco business are compelled to register yearly in compliance with Section 12 of the Tobacco Board Act, 1975. The application deadline for fresh registration is November 1, while those seeking renewal have until November 30.
The Board emphasized that failure to possess a valid licence or proper authorisation for engaging in tobacco-related activities may lead to penalties as described in the Tobacco Board Act. Compliance with submission procedures and statutory requirements is essential for continued operations.
