A fatal clash between rival transporter groups in Korba, Chhattisgarh, has resulted in the death of a 36-year-old man, escalating tensions in the region. The violence erupted as factions battled for dominance over coal transportation from the South Eastern Coalfields Limited's Saraipali-Budbud mine.

The deceased man's family and local residents have slammed the police, alleging negligence in addressing the simmering dispute. Rohit Jaiswal, a transporter stabbed in the altercation, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

The police have filed charges against 16 individuals, including prominent transporters and a local BJP leader, Roshan Singh Thakur. Eight arrests have been made, but community unrest continues, with protests and a bandh called by traders and citizens demanding justice.
